Huawei Ascend Mate7 Comparison Review – Good or Bad?
The Ascend Mate7 is the latest addition to the Mate-series of big-screen phablet smartphones from Huawei. The two previous models, the Ascend Mate and Mate2, offered great value for a phablet with a good combination of features at a very competitive price.
However, the third iteration does away with this and goes in another direction. It now offers some cutting-edge features that very few smartphones have at the moment. So is this a wise move by Huawei? Continue reading this article to find out more.

Huawei Ascend Y550 Review – Pros and Cons
Huawei has updated the Y5xx series of entry-level or budget smartphones with the introduction of the Ascend Y550. This model replaces the Ascend Y530, which in turn was a replacement for the Ascend Y511. So how does the new Huawei Y550 stack up against other phones? Continue reading this article to find out.
The Ascend Y550 is, like all other phone models in the Y-series, an entry-level smartphone for the budget user. However, the Y5xx phones can be considered the premium models within the entry-level category in contrast to say the Y3xx series.
The Y5xx phones are meant for those people that want a entry-level smartphone, but have the budget to spend a little more than the average budget user. In return, you get a smartphone with a number of additional features or extras compared to most entry-level smartphones.
The Y550 has several different versions, Y550-L01, Y550-L02 and Y550-L03. The only difference between them is that they support a slightly different set of cellular frequencies and are intended to be used in different geographical areas that use those cellular frequencies.

Huawei Ascend Y330 Review – Pros and Cons
Huawei has added another member to the Y-series of entry-level budget smartphones. This time it's the third member of the Y3xx series, the Ascend Y330 which replaces the preceding Y320 and the even older Y300. Both the Ascend Y320 and the Y300 in particular were popular for their good combination of features at a low price.
Notable differences worth mentioning between the Y330 and Y320 include:
Notable differences worth mentioning between the Y330 and Y320 include:
- The Y330 comes with a different aspect ratio, although it retains the four inch screen of its two predecessors. The Y330 now has a FWVGA screen with a resolution of 854x480. The Y320 and Y300 both had a WVGA screen with a resolution of 800x480. By increasing the horizontal resolution, the Y330 better matches the 16:9 aspect ratio of wide-screen video, which should reduce the need for cropping as is sometimes the case for narrower resolutions such as WVGA.
- The Ascend Y330 comes with a single three megapixel camera, which is better than the two megapixel camera found on the Y320. However, it's not as good as the original Ascend Y300, which came with two cameras, including a five megapixel camera at the rear of the phone.
- Battery capacity has also changed. The 1500 mAh battery in the Y330 replaces the 1350 mAh battery in the Y320. Again, the Ascend Y300 had a bigger battery with 1730mAh.

Review of Huawei Ascend P7 – Is it Good or Bad
In 2013, Huawei released the Ascend P6. With this smartphone, Huawei aimed to increase its brand awareness, something where it lagged behind in comparison to better known brands, such as Samsung, Sony and so on.
The P-series of smartphones, under which the Ascend P6 resides, were designed by Huawei primarily for people to whom the looks of a smartphone is most important. The priority is for a smartphone that is stylish, fashionable and elegant to people and the Ascend P6 is designed for that.
Overall, the P-series lie between the D-series and the G-series. The former are Huawei's top of the line high-end smartphones and the latter are mid-range smartphones. As a result, the P-series are not the best in terms of features or specs, but they're are also no the most expensive.
Huawei has since released the Ascend P6S, an improvement of the original P6. That phone only featured internal changes and therefore was more of a minor update and not a true replacement. However, Huawei has now released the Ascend P7, which is to replace its predecessor, the P6.

Comparison Review of Huawei Ascend G6 4G – Is it Good or Bad
In 2013, Huawei introduced the Ascend P6. This phone was designed to have an attractive exterior and, at the time, was the thinnest smartphone available at around 6.18 mm. It was recognized for its good looks, which included a metal body, as the Ascend P6 won several awards in this category.
While the price of the Ascend P6 was on the low side for its class, it was still a high-end phone and therefore out of reach for the average person. To make the phone more accessible to people, a cheaper version would have to be available. This is where the Ascend G6 comes in and its updated version, the Ascend G6 4G.
The Ascend G6 tries to incorporate much of what people liked in the Ascend G6 in a cheaper package. Not surprisingly, the two phones look similar in certain respects as the design of the G6 is based on the P6. However, there are a number of differences between the Ascend G6 and Ascend P6.

Review of Huawei Honor 3C 4G Smartphone – Pros and Cons
In 2013, Huawei released the Honor 3, a smartphone that was both water and dust-resistant. The Honor 3 has now been joined by two new smartphones, the Honor 3C and Honor 3X. The Honor smartphones are designed to offer high performance at low cost.
While their names may suggest that the 3C and 3X are variations of the original Honor 3, that is not the case. Both lack the water and dust-resistant housing of the original and are configured differently, both from the inside and from the outside.
While the Honor 3X is a phablet, the Honor 3C is more of a general purpose smartphone for the mainstream public. As such, the phone may appeal to many people. It's therefore prudent to look at what the phone's strengths and weaknesses are

Huawei Ascend G730 Reviewed – Is it Good or Bad
The Ascend G730 is one of the latest entries into Huawei's G-series of smartphones. This line of devices are composed of mid-range smartphones that seek to offer a comprehensive set of multimedia features at a relatively affordable price to the general public.
The Huawei G730 stands out as it has a 5.5 inch LCD touchscreen, which is the biggest screen within the G-series so far. With this screen, the G730 can be classified as a phablet, a combination of the functionality of a smartphone and the screen size of a tablet. However, it's not as big as some phablets out there with screens of six or more inches.
Note that there is another version of the G730 known as the G730-L072. The latter replaces the MediaTek processor with a cpu from Qualcomm. There do not seem any other differences between the two versions and they both look the same.
Both also supports two sim cards as do many of the other members in the G-series, but that's as far as it goes. The phone does not offer anything extra. In fact, its specs are somewhat on the low side despite the fact that it's supposed to be a mid-range smartphone. A look at the strengths and weaknesses of the G730 will explain why.

Huawei Honor 3X / Ascend G750 / Glory 4 Phablet Review – Pros and Cons
Last year, Huawei released the Honor 3 or Glory 3, which was notable for being resistant to both water and dust. Huawei has now released two other smartphones, the Honor 3X and Honor 3C. Despite sharing the Honor 3 name, the two models seem to have nothing else in common with their predecessor, whether internally or externally.
Instead of a smartphone with a water and dust-resistant casing as was the case in the Honor 3, you get a phablet in the Honor 3X. In other words, the Honor 3X is a smartphone with a 5.5 inch LCD touchscreen that approaches that of the screens found on tablets.
While not as large as other phablets such as the Huawei Ascend Mate with its six inch screen, it's a completely different phone and should not be mistaken for the Honor 3. Besides the standard version, there is the Huawei Honor 3X Pro, which differs from the standard version in that it has a Full-HD screen and twice as much internal storage at 16 gigabytes.
Also worth mentioning is that the Honor 3X is also known under different names such as Glory 4 and G750. The G-series of smartphones are mid-range smartphones from Huawei that are designed to offer a comprehensive set of features at a relatively affordable price. To determine whether the Honor 3X accomplishes that goal, it's important to look at what's good or bad about the phone.

Huawei Ascend Y220 Smartphone Reviewed – Good or Bad
Huawei's Y-series of entry-level smartphones are marketed towards anyone on a budget who would like to have the convenience of owning a smartphone, while paying as little as possible. Within the Y-series, the Huawei Ascend Y220 is currently one of the cheapest options.
Being one of the cheapest means that the Y220 also has less features and capabilities than other members of the Y-series. The question to be asked is whether this tradeoff between price and included features is a good or bad one. A review of the Y220 is therefore in order.
Here's what's to like about the Ascend Y220:

What is good about the Huawei Ascend Y220
Here's what's to like about the Ascend Y220:
- Smartphones have been getting cheaper in recent years and the Y220 has reached levels previously unheard of. The phone can be had for around $70 to $80, which is less than what you to pay for feature phones in the past. This means that more people in the world can now own their first smartphone.
- Despite the low price, the Y220 is not poorly build as you might suspect at such a low price. The plastic will not bend under light pressure and should not break easily. Often times, cheap products are of poor quality, but the Y220 is not one of them.
- The Y220 is a quad-band phone, meaning that it should work everywhere where GSM connections are used, which is everywhere. The Y220 also supports 3G connections for reasonably fast Internet.
- The Y220 comes with a 3.5 inch screen, which show you how much budget smartphones have improved. As a point of reference, the original Apple iPhone came with a similar sized screen and resolution that is now found on the Y220. What was once found on really high-end devices has now made its way onto even the most entry-level devices.

Huawei Ascend P6 and P6S Comparison Review – Pros and Cons
Huawei is now on the five largest manufacturers of smartphones, but a lot of people are still not familiar with that brand. Other brands such as Nokia and Motorola are much better know, despite being smaller than Huawei.
Part of the problem was that Huawei would not bring out a lot of products under their own brand. To raise their brand recognition, Huawei intends to release more products with the brand Huawei, including some that are designed to raise awareness among the public. The Ascend P6 falls in that category.
The P-series is a line of smartphones from Huawei are targeted at those people who are most interested in a phone that's fashionable, elegant and stylish first and foremost. If the looks of a smartphone is what's most important to you, then the P-series is what you're looking for.

Review of Huawei Ascend Y530 Smartphone – Good or Bad
The Y-series of smartphones from Huawei are entry-level smartphones for those on a small budget. They sit below the G-series and D-series and are therefore cheaper, but also come with less features. One of the latest members to this group is the Huawei Ascend Y530.
The model number of a Huawei smartphone is not some random number, but an indication of its price range and feature set. The number next to the Y indicates its rank within the series. A higher number has more features, but is more expensive.

Huawei Ascend Y511 Review - Pros and Cons
The Y-series from Huawei are budget smartphones designed in such a way that most people are able to afford them. Within this group, you have several members that each offer their own specific set of features. The Huawei Ascend Y511 can be considered to be the high-end of the Y-series of the budget smartphones.
Despite still being a budget phone, the Y511 offers a few premium features relative to its siblings, but that also comes at a higher cost. For example, it comes with a 4.5 inch touchscreen, which is relatively large for this type of smartphone. Another extra feature included is the ability to install two sim cards.
Budget smartphones are often a compromise. Unlike more expensive smartphones, they have to fit within a budget and that often results in some drawbacks. The Y511 is no different. There are some good and bad things about the phone that may nor may not be an issue for you.
One good thing about the Y511 is that it has a 4.5 inch screen, which is quite large for a budget smartphone, especially in comparison to phones of the past. Smartphones in general have been moving towards increasingly larger screen as that is what most people demand. The Y511 satisfy this demand from a large segment of the public.
While some people may not like the added weight and size that comes with a bigger screen, there are a lot of people who will like having such a big screen without having to spend a lot for a more expensive mid-range or high-end smartphone where large screens are more commonly found.

Huawei Ascend D2 Reviewed – Good or Bad
The D-series are the most high-end smartphones that Huawei has available. High-end smartphones tend to come with the latest bells and whistles, but that also raises the cost and makes these phones the most expensive around. The Huawei Ascend D2 is one such example of a smartphone.
The D2 is Huawei's best smartphone in terms of features. However, simply packing a smartphone with lots of features doesn't necessarily make it a perfect smartphone. The phone has its own set of pros and cons that people need to be aware of them if they're evaluating the Huawei D2.
The Huawei Ascend D2 offers a number of premium features that will appeal to people. To start off, the phone is made of aluminum in contrast to the plastic that most smartphones are made off. Metal is of course much more sturdy than plastic and should hold up better over time.
Not only does it protect the phone against damage in a way that's not possible with plastic, it also makes the phone very attractive from the exterior. The D2 has a definite high-end look to complement its strong body.
